I'm Writing a Book (!)

As many of you know, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes for a few weeks now on a plan to expand So Many Thoughts beyond Instagram, looking for ways to turn my side hustle into a bigger gig. I launched this blog, started a newsletter, and now — huzzah! — I can finally share with you all the super exciting news that I’m writing a book. <insert delighted shriek here!>

HRH: So Many Thoughts on Royal Style will look at the sartorial biographies of the four most important women in the modern British monarchy: Queen Elizabeth II; Diana, Princess of Wales; Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge; and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. It will be an elevated spinoff of my SMT commentary on Instagram Stories, a combination of beautiful photographs with essays and lengthy captions.

HRH will be published in Fall 2020 by Celadon, a division of Macmillan. Town & Country has a lovely write-up with more details on the project here.

Thank YOU, first and foremost, for making this possible. So Many Thoughts started on a whim a year and a half ago and now it’s a *thing* because of YOU! Because you engaged with it + you spread the word + you supported all of its growth. I’m ever so grateful.

And I need your help! I want HRH to be a collaborative process, tapping into the amazing insights of the SMT fam. As HRH comes together, I’ll be asking you to weigh in on decisions big and small. First up: what looks do you think I need to include in the pages of HRH? The style stories of these four royal women are so rich, I would love your Thoughts. Please offer up your suggestions in the comments below! And, if you aren’t already, make sure to sign up for my newsletter. I’ll be sharing all my book-related news there. Stay tuned, so much more to come!

PS: Since I need to write this book and have a baby in the next five months (yowsa!), I’ll be hiring some talented folks to work with me. If you are, or know of, a fashion-obsessed photo editor or researcher who happens to love the royals, please send me an email: Elizabeth at ByElizabethHolmes dot com.
