Your Thoughts: Will and Kate at the BAFTA Awards
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the BAFTA Awards Sunday evening, the British equivalent of the Oscars of which Will is president. The organizers of the black tie event asked that attendees dress sustainably, either by rewearing a piece from their closet, choosing a vintage piece or a new garment from an eco-friendly label.
Many of the celebrities in attendance ignored the request (SMT on that…), but Kate dug deep in her own archives to pull out a 2012 Alexander McQueen gown from a state dinner in Malaysia. You can read more about the evening at the Telegraph and BAZAAR.com. Susan over at What Kate Wore has a great close-up shot of the subtle changes Kate made to the sleeves of the dress.
Unrelated to fashion, but Margot Robbie closed out Brad Pitt’s acceptance speech in his absence by holding up the award and declaring: “He’s going to name this Harry because he’s really excited about bringing this back to the States with him.” And the cameras cut to Will and Kate!! Watch the clip below, it happens at around the 1:45 mark.
What do you think of the BAFTA dress code, and Kate’s choice? Do you prefer her 2012 styling (below, left) or the 2020 take (below, right)? Share in the comments!
