Throw Pillow SOS

We are in desperate neeed of new throw pillows in our living room and family room. But I am struggling with how to assort them! This feels like dressing a family for pictures, you don't want matchy-matchy but you do want to coordinate! I'd love to hear how you think about the mix of colors, shapes, and styles. Also, any favorite brands? (Bonus points if they are sturdy, my kids love to maul them.)
